Laura was born on a cold January day in 1986, and she immediately began warming hearts around her. Laura loved nearly everything about life and certainly loved the people around her. Her early years included lots of pool time at friends’ houses, swimming and tubing at her grandparents’ cottage, and riding ponies at Teusink’s Pony Farm. Laura never stopped moving unless she was sleeping. She loved her sisters, boating, traveling, sports, and Michigan football.
After graduating from Holland Christian, she moved on to Calvin College where she earned a degree in Social Work. She completed a Master’s Degree at Western Michigan. Laura had a strong desire to help struggling people, a desire planted by God and nurtured through years of faith-filled people God placed in her life. She endured so many struggles in her own life, and often remarked that those struggles made her an exceptional social worker.
She will be sorely missed by everyone she had contact with. Laura was truly an unforgettable young woman, gone far too early.
Laura is survived by her parents, Bob and Mary Kool; sisters, Jen Kool, Michelle Kool; nieces and nephew, Emory, Riley, Isaac; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
