ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 19, 2024) – Sentencing is set for March 4th after a 26-year-old Wayland man was found guilty in the October, 2021 death of a 27-year-old Allegan man.
On Friday, an Allegan County Circuit Court jury convicted Gerrit James King of delivery of a controlled substance causing death. He was accused of delivering fentanyl to Quinn Robinson, who subsequently died of an overdose. The verdict came following three days of testimony, and King’s bond was revoked.
Not many other details were disclosed in a press release by the Michigan State Police post in Paw Paw, among the law enforcement entities from the Southwest Enforcement Team that were involved in the case. The statement focused more on the efforts of those entities in investigating and prosecuting the case, as well spotlighting the effects of fatal drug overdoses.
