POLKTON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 17, 2024) – A blaze in a travel trailer south of Coopersville on Wednesday morning is considered suspicious by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
According to Detective Sergeant Allison Anderson, deputies and fire crews from three departments were dispatched to the area of 68th Avenue near Leonard Street in the Eastmanville vicinity around 7:40 AM. They found the trailer on fire, and the flames were quickly brought under control.
No injuries were reported, and while Anderson didn’t say if anyone was inside of the unit at the time of the blaze, an initial probe by detectives and state police fire investigators revealed that the trailer was being lived in, and are treating the case as a “suspicious fire.” No disclosure as to the nature and origin of the fire was made.
