Grand Valley State swept a basketball doubleheader from visiting Saginaw Valley State in Allendale last night. Rylie Bisballe scored 17 points as the women took the opener from the Cardinals, 76-38. Ethan Alderink and William Dunn each tallied 16 points as GVSU captured the men’s nightcap, 88-83. The Lakers await the arrival the Wayne State Warriors for another twin bill at the Fieldhouse Arena tomorrow afternoon.
In state major-college basketball last night, Michigan State fell at Illinois, 71-68, and Michigan lost at Maryland, 64-57.

Darnell Nurse’s unassisted goal 1:20 into overtime lifted the visiting Edmonton Oilers past the Red Wings last night, 3-2. Detroit entertains the Los Angeles Kings at Little Caesars Arena tomorrow evening, with broadcast time at 6:45 PM on 99 7/1450 WHTC.
