Rich was a decorated Vietnam veteran having served in the US Army, 7th Cavalry. He retired as a tool and die maker from Trans-Matic in 2006 and was a member of Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church where he served as an elder and deacon; he also participated in several SERVE projects. Richard was a loving husband, father and grandfather who adored his grandchildren and family.
Rich was preceded in death by his brothers, Ernie De Jonge, Robert De Jonge, Jan De Jonge; sister Patricia De Jonge; sisters-in-law, Janice De Jonge, Bonnie Bosch, Marilyn Staat; and brother-in-law, Gary Bryan.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and also on Saturday, January 6 from 1:00 PM -1:45 PM both at Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church, 4055 112th St. Holland. Funeral services with military honors will follow visitation on Saturday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mark Vande Zande and Rev. Brady Mulder officiating. Burial will be in Noordeloos Cemetery.
