Rog was a long-time member of Beaverdam Christian Reformed Church. He also attended Bradenton Chapel in Florida, where he enjoyed spending the winters with his wife (and golf clubs). Rog is a US Navy Veteran and was a successful business owner, starting Miedema Metal Building Systems in 1972. He was a joyful man, which showed through his demeanor and love for singing in various groups and quartets.
Rog is survived by his children: Sue (Doug) Hassevoort, Tom (Beth) Miedema, Tim (Pat) Miedema; grandchildren & great-grandchildren: Adam Hassevoort, Lindsey and Carl Palma, Phil and Jessica Hassevoort (Zoe), Zach and Sarah Miedema (Ryder, Kennedy, Letti), Alex and Phoebe Miedema (Owen, Liam), Jake and Leslie Miedema (Marley, Georgia), Tiffany and Jeff Dalman (Colton, Chase, Tucker, Finn), Ashley and Kevin Kline (Elijah, Isaiah, Ezekiel), Spencer and Katie Miedema (Grant, Macie, Lincoln), Brittany and John Nuland (Theo, Emma, Lucas, Addy); siblings: Dale (Helaine) Miedema, Ron (Arloa) Miedema, Mitzi Miedema, Nelson (Karen) Miedema, Marica Palmbos and Phil Hamming, Bud (Robin) Miedema, Randy (Lindley) Miedema, Ken (Lis) Miedema; in-laws: Harv (Shirlene) Arendsen, Ron Van Dyke, Carol (Dean) Collins, Linda (Bill) Garvelink, Sally (Ross) Wabeke, and many extended family members.
A time of visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St. Zeeland. A funeral service, with Rev. Tyler Wagenmaker officiating, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Beaverdam Christian Reformed Church, 5166 64th Avenue, Hudsonville. Private family burial will be held in Beaverdam Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Faith Hospice.
