John enjoyed woodworking as a hobby, and remained a hard worker throughout his life. He took great pride in decorating the outside of his home for the holidays, even winning contests in the past. John enjoyed traveling out West, sharing lunch visits with his cousins, and gathering for breakfast with his friends each week. Above all, John loved his family and spending time with them. He was also a longtime member of Holland Church of Christ.
John was preceded in death by his wife Linda; his brothers Ronald (Duke) Burns, Jim Enos, and brother-in-law John Bailor; as well as great-grandson Michael John.
John is survived by his children Tammy (Merle) Hulst, Eric Burns, and Aaron (Dawn) Burns; Grandchildren Brittany (Gerrit) Bultena, Kassandra Hulst, Cheryl Burns, Daniel (Sam) Burns, Kurtis (Nina) Hulst; as well as Great-grandchildren Charles, Hailee, Julia, Madison, Nora, Katerina, Sebastian, and Ezra. John is also survived by brother Harold (Judy) Burns, sister Joyce Bailor, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service for John will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Holland Church of Christ – 405 Beeline Rd, Holland, MI 49424, with a time of fellowship following the service.
