DEARBORN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 5, 2023) – The gas price holiday enjoyed by motorists along the Lakeshore and across Michigan is apparently over.
Triple-A Michigan says the average price as of this morning is now three-22 a gallon, a penny below the national mean, but eight cents higher than a week ago. This state’s level is still 22-cents lower than it was in early November, and down 21-cents from this time last year. The state’s highest prices are in Jackson at three-29, and Benton Harbor’s three-18 is the lowest. Ottawa County was at three-26 this morning, and Allegan County was two pennies higher.
The national Auto Club trotted out the headline on its web pages: “Is it the End of the Road for Falling Gas Prices?” Adrienne Woodland is with AAA in Dearborn.
The sub-three dollar rate seen on fueling station marquees along the Lakeshore through the Thanksgiving holiday is now history.
A 15-gallon fill up costs 48 dollars on average in the state, down around 30 dollars from the highest price in June of 2022.
