JAMESTOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 19, 2023) – Two teenagers were hospitalized in a three-vehicle pileup south of Hudsonville on Sunday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, a westbound VW Beetle apparently drove through a stop sign on Greenly Street at 32nd Avenue around 3 PM. It was struck by a southbound truck, causing the smaller vehicle to careen into a stopped SUV on the opposite side of Greenly, while the truck rolled over to the right.
The truck driver, an 18-year-old Hudsonville man, was treated at the scene for bumps and bruises, while a 64-year-old Hudsonville man and his 64-year-old wife in the SUV were not hurt. However, the VW motorist, an 18-year-old Detroit man, and a 19-year-old Caledonia woman who was his passenger, sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized at an undisclosed location.
The intersection was closed through dusk, as the crash remains under investigation.
