In the NCAA Division II football championship tournament in Allendale on Saturday, Cade Peterson threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns as Grand Valley State defeated visiting Ferris State in Allendale, 21-14. The Lakers host Pittsburg State next Saturday afternoon at Luebbers Stadium.
In state major-college football on Saturday, Michigan won at Maryland, 31-24, and Michigan State won at Indiana, 24-21.

Olivia Bellows came off of the bench to score 20 points as Hope rallied past visiting Illinois Wesleyan at DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland on Saturday, 80-73. The Flying Dutch are at Wisconsin Lutheran in Milwaukee on Tuesday evening.

Grand Valley State’s women won at Central State on Saturday afternoon, 113-56, behind 19 points off the bench by Megan Crow. The Lakers are in Midland to take on Northwood next Saturday evening.
In state major college basketball on Saturday, Eastern Michigan defeated Cleveland State, 69-62, but Detroit lost to Ohio, 71-52. On Sunday, Michigan State faces Alcorn State, Western Michigan faces Ohio State, and Oakland faces Drake.

The Flying Dutch will be in the national quarterfinals in Clairmont, California, beginning on November 29th.
