HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 17, 2023) – Downtown Holland will be a busy place this Saturday.
Downtown Holland/Prinicipal Shopping District hosts its annual Holiday Open House from 5 to 8 PM, where the entire community is invited to stroll the beautifully decorated and brightly lit streets while shopping for all of your holiday gifts!
In addition, the 26th annual Kerstmarkt begins on Saturday, according to Executive Director Linda Hart with the Holland Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The Kerstmarkt will share the 8th Street Marketplace site with the Holland Farmers Market, which has its weekly Saturday session from 9 AM to 1 PM.
The Holland Area Arts Council is holding a Yuletide Holiday Market at its location (150 E. 8th Street) on Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM, with 20 local artisans and a Community of Mud showcasing their unique creations for sale, including pottery, paintings, handmade jewelry, candles, knit and crochet items, woodworking, textiles, paper goods, fused glass, beadwork, and much more. There will be complimentary donuts and hot chocolate, and admission is free.
Besides these activities, DeVos Fieldhouse will host two women’s basketball games on Saturday involving teams from Hope College, Illinois Wesleyan, Puget Sound and John Carroll, along with a third round NCAA Division III women’s volleyball championship tournament match. A few miles north, a MHSAA Division 3 football championship tournament contest is slated for West Ottawa High School, as Zeeland West faces Forest Hills Central.
