Hope College teammates Addie VanderWeide and Lauren Lee swept MIAA weekly volleyball honors after helping the third-ranked Flying Dutch win the MIAA Tournament last week.
VanderWeide (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian HS) is the MIAA Volleyball Athlete of the Week for the third time this season and her career.
Lee (Plymouth, Michigan / Saline) is the MIAA Volleyball Specialist of the Week for the third time this season and the fifth time in her career.
VanderWeide averaged 14.0 kills, 15.0 digs and 1.5 service aces during three-set victories against Adrian College in the semifinals on Friday and Calvin University in the finals on Saturday.
The outside hitter and business major recorded a .328 hitting percentage against Adrian and .345 against Calvin.
Lee averaged 38.5 assists and 5.5 digs per match as a setter against Adrian and Calvin.
The biology major also served one ace and recorded an assisted block during the tournament.
Hope clinched an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championships with the MIAA Tournament title.
It was the Flying Dutch’s fifth MIAA Tournament championship.
