HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 13, 2023) – A new third of the Holland City Council will be installed on Monday evening.
During a special 5 PM ceremony in Chambers at Holland City Hall, Nathan Bocks will be sworn in to a third two-year term as Mayor, while Lyn Raymond begins a second four-year term on the governing panel, this time replacing the retired Jay Peters in representing the Second Ward. Michael Schultheis fills Raymond’s At-Large vacancy, while Kim Rowan replaces Nicki Arendshorst in the Fourth Ward, and Devin Shea takes over for the retired Dave Hoekstra in the Sixth Ward.
Mike Trethewey, who retired two years ago after around two decades representing the First Ward, says change is inevitable.
The new members won’t get much time to settle in to their positions before their first business meeting slated for Wednesday evening.
