HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 1, 2023) – One of Holland’s leading artists has created her 23rd annual Christmas Card for the Tulip City community.
On Wednesday, the Holland Area Convention and Visitors Bureau unveiled “The Jolly Snowman,” as Carolyn Stich depicted a snowman taking a “selfie” in front of the iconic Big Red Lighthouse, with the words, “Warmest Wishes from Big Red’s Winter Wonderland.” In keeping with her style of expressive colors and images, the card appears larger than life.
“It’s that time of year and I am thrilled to have created the Christmas card again this year. I can’t believe this is my 23rd year of creating this card for our city. Isn’t it fun to imagine a snowman as our winter lighthouse keeper.” – Carolyn Stich
Stich, a two-time winner of the Tulip Time Festival First Bloem competition for creating the image of Holland’s annual signature event (2015, 2019), has a creation among the 20 finalists for the 2024 official poster contest.
The Christmas Card will be sold exclusively through the Visitors Bureau office and Stich’s own studio, both on 8th Street downtown, as well as at Van Wieren Hardware off of Douglas Avenue on Holland’s North Side, and during the holiday Kerstmarkt in the 8th Street Marketplace. Proceeds from the $3 individual card price and $18 for a 10-card package will go towards the Hands of Hope charity.
