Carol Ritsema, age 82 of Zeeland passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023.
She is survived by her children: Deb and Ed de Vries, and Kevin and Toni Hassevoort; her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Katie Haan (Bentley, Aubrey), Erin and Jeremy Russcher (Makenzie, Keagan, Alaina, Bria), Russell and Nicole Hassevoort (Gage, Gunar, Krew), Derek de Vries (Elijah); her stepchildren: Gerrit Ritsema, Samuel Ritsema, Wilma Stokes, and Robert and Kerri Ritsema.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Gerhard “Jerk” Ritsema in 2010.
Carol retired from Herman Miller where she was employed for 28 years, and she also enjoyed volunteering at Zeeland Hospital. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Zeeland. Carol and “Jerk” were active for many years in the Vintage Car Club of Holland and The Model T Car Club.
Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 pm Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland with her funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm. Interment will be in Vriesland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland or First Reformed Church. www.yntemafh.com
