Two Hope College student-athletes have been selected as MIAA Athletes of the Week: linebacker Bryce Debri in football and setter Lauren Lee in volleyball.
This is Debri’s first MIAA weekly honor.
The sophomore from DeWitt, Michigan (DeWitt HS) helped the Flying Dutchmen earn a 45-7 win at The University of Olivet on Saturday by collecting three tackles, two interceptions and one pass breakup.
Debri returned one Olivet pass three yards for a first-half touchdown as Hope jumped out to a 31-0 halftime lead.
Lee is the MIAA Volleyball Speciality Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and the fourth time in her career.
The sophomore biology major from Plymouth, Michigan / Skyline) propelled the third-ranked Flying Dutch to a 4-0 record last week, including three-set sweeps of Trine University, Defiance College (Ohio) and Susquehanna University (Pa.) and a four-set victory against the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Lee averaged 11.54 assists and 2.08 digs per set while also totaling 25 points between 14 kills, 10 service aces and two assisted blocks.
