HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 18, 2023) – Assessments spotlight Wednesday night’s biweekly Holland City Council business meeting.
During the 6 PM session in Chambers at Holland City Hall (270 S. River Ave.), the governing panel will be asked to approve putting areas being renovated along 6th Street and Columbia Avenue under annual levies for snowmelt installation and maintenance. This includes the sidewalks along 6th Street, from River to Columbia avenues, the East 6th Street roadway from College to Columbia avenues, and the sidewalk along Columbia Avenue from East 7th to East 5th streets. In addition, council members will consider approving the yearly assessments to downtown property owners and residents for parking and snowmelt, along with downtown development authority fees for retailers.
Mayor Nathan Bocks is also expected to brief council members on his excursion to the Netherlands last week, as he was joined by Tulip Time Executive Director Gwen Auwerda and others on a goodwill visit to various venues, including a meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
