LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 17, 2023) – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is getting grant funding focused on Alzheimer’s disease.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta has awarded the department nearly two million dollars over a five-year period, through the Building Our Largest Dementia Infrastructure, or BOLD, initiative, for dementia awareness education, and to work toward health equity benchmarks. On a non-governmental level, efforts by groups such as the Alzheimer’s Association look to provide support for those stricken and their families, according to Michigan Chapter Development Director Rachel Dober.
The Alzheimer’s Association is staging its annual fundraising walk at Centennial Park in Holland this coming Saturday, with a link to more information and registration here.
