HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 12, 2023) – A four-year veteran of the Holland Department of Public Safety’s Police Services has won a prestigious honor.
Jason Trott was named the 2023 Reserve Officer of the Year during the annual reserve award ceremony by department Chief Matt Messer. Trott was nominated by his peers, and factors that led to the determination of this accolade was his commitment to the unit and to the community, while his peers felt that he was easy to communicate with and was definitely a team player. Trott had earned a department life-saving award earlier this year when he performed CPR on a person who had collapsed at the 8th Street Marketplace during a session of the Holland Farmers Market.
Trott, whose full-time employment is with a forklift company in Kentwood, lives in Zeeland, and will represent the Reserve Unit at various functions over the next 12 months.
