HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 4, 2023) – It’ll probably cost a little more to live and/or work in downtown Holland in 2024.
During Wednesday evening’s Holland City Council business meeting, the governing panel will hold separate public hearings before voting on annual downtown assessment proposals. City staff is recommending a three percent hike in parking and snowmelt fees, while maintaining current levies for the Principal Shopping District. Council will also be asked to approve amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance that would include allowing neighborhoods to post banners over roadways to promote events, something that right now only the downtown district can do.
In addition, members of the Holland Youth Advisory Council and students involved in Holland Youth on Boards, Commissions and Committees for Academic 2024 will be introduced. The teens will be under the supervision of Esther Fifelski, the city’s Human Relations Director.
The Holland City Council 6 PM business meeting is in Chambers at Holland City Hall (270 S. River Ave.). An online link to the meeting agenda and supporting documents is here.
