The Tigers took a pair of games from visiting Kansas City yesterday. Four pitchers teamed on a two-hit, 10-strikeout shutout as the Bengals blanked the Royals, 8-0, to complete a suspended game from Wednesday night. In the regularly scheduled contest, Spencer Torkelson’s three-run homer capped a seven-run seventh inning as the Tigers swept out KC, 7-3. Detroit hosts the Cleveland Guardians this evening to begin a season-ending, three-game series at Comerica Park.
Matt Olson’s two-run homer in the first inning ignited the Braves to a 5-3 win over the visiting Cubs in Atlanta last night. Chicago takes on the Brewers in Milwaukee this evening to open up a season-ending, three-game series at American Family Field.
A two-run homer by Andrew Vaughn in the second inning and a solo blast by Yoan Moncada in the fourth were enough for the White Sox to top the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday, 7-3.
