Dennis was born on September 12th, 1939 to John and Jeanette Kolean in Holland, MI. After graduating from High School, he joined the U.S Army Reserve. Dennis met the love of his life, Sharon and were married for 60 wonderful years. Dennis was a member of the Holland and Muskegon Beagle Club. He was an avid antique dealer and loved going to auctions. Dennis worked as a maintenance man at Parke-Davis/Pfizer. When Dennis wasn’t working, he would dabble in his garden, which he love to keep up with and share memories with his family. Dennis was a big Hope College Basketball fan from 8 years old and on. Dennis absolutely loved his family and friends, and faithfully sheltering and protecting them. He will be deeply missed.
Dennis is survived by: his wife, Sharon Kolean; son, Kurt Kolean; daughter, Lauri Kolean; sisters, Jackie (Al) Busscher and Sher DeWitt; sister-in-laws, Wanda Westveld and Sandra Postma; nieces and nephews.
Dennis is preceded in death by: his parents, John and Jeanette Kolean; father-in-law, Floyd Westveld; mother-in-law, Berdena Westveld; brother-in-laws, Stuart DeWitt and Wayne Westveld; and sister-in-law, Dottie O’Conner.
A private graveside service is being planned with Jonathan Elgersma.
