Marilyn entered eternal rest on September 16, 2023, at the age of 89.
She was born on January 12, 1934; to her parents Edward and Henrietta (Etta) Stryker. The family lived in a lake community called Central Park, located on the South side of Lake Macatawa; which fills in from the big Lake Michigan.
She graduated from Holland High school and was very proud to be part of the now ‘famous’ Holland Klompen Dutch dance team in 1952, her Senior year. She was awarded a silver pin that dangled two silver wooden shoes, for her commitment to the Klompen dance and the many young students she taught, which grew their interest to participate in the parade on Main Street of Holland. She continued her love of being by the water, taught her children the joy of fishing, waterskiing, and boating whenever she could.
Marilyn and Paul were part of the Michigan Trail Riders Association that traveled the state on horseback. They totally enjoyed riding the trails with there beloved horses.
She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher DeWitt; and Grandsons Brandon and Luke DeWitt who are sorely missed by all.
She will be lovingly remembered by her Husband Paul of 34 wonderful years; her children, Kerry (Kaaren) DeWitt, Karen (Antonio) Rodriguez, Tom (April) DeWitt, Dale (Patti) DeWitt and Dave (Michele) DeWitt; Stepchildren, Don (JoAn) Dunning, Jim (Jan West) Dunning, Sally (Tom) Swift, and Paula (Brian) VanderBrink; Sister, Carol (Martin) DeVries, Sister-law, Anna Bouterse; 13 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews.
