Calvin Brink, age 94 of Holland passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Darlene; his children: Cindy and Jim Folkert, Marc and Dawn Brink, and Jeff and Catherine Brink; his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Connor and Heather Brink (Joey and Fischer), Casie and Jake Mulder (Skylar, Camden), Tyler and Rachael Folkert (Isla, Ezra, Levi), Micah and Christa Folkert (Elinor), Bethany and Aaron Massung, Hannah Brink, and Christian Brink; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Marilyn and Irvin Steketee, and Mardella and Ron Hoffman.
Cal was preceded in death by his grandchildren: Daniel John Folkert and Callie Rae Brink, his parents Leonard and Tena Brink as well as his 13 brothers and sisters.
Cal was born April 19, 1929, in East Saugatuck to Leonard and Tena Brink. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Cal retired from Transmatic where he was a tool and die maker. He also serviced blueberry and coffee picking machines when they first were manufactured, even traveling to Brazil to do service work. Cal was also a handyman, always helping to do maintenance at his kid’s homes and trying to figure how to make things work better. Cal and Darlene enjoyed camping and wintered in Florida for 25 years after his retirement.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 East 16th Street, Holland. Interment will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland. www.langelandsterenberg.com
