Therese Ann Hopkin Jankowski, age 81 of Holland, MI passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023 in Holland, MI with family by her side. She formerly resided in Coalville, UT; Boise and Garden Valley, ID; Ganges and Douglas, MI; Willow, AK and the Holland, MI area.
Therese was born in Phoenix, AZ on October 3, 1941 to Orlando (Ike) and Margaret Hopkin. She was raised in Coalville, UT, raised her family in Boise, where she was a nurse, Garden Valley, where she worked in her children’s school library and the Holland area, where she enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Eventually, she settled in Willow, where she owned the Mat-Su RV Park. She lost everything in the devastating McKinley fire in August 2019, which brought her back to the Holland area to be near family.
Therese loved interacting with people at the RV Park, working jigsaw puzzles and testing her trivia knowledge. She could call out the answers to Jeopardy faster than most contestants. A favorite hobby was collecting thimbles from her children’s travel adventures all over the world so she could feel like she remained connected to them. After hundreds were lost in the fire, she was forced to start her collection over. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were very important to her. She always looked forward to their visits.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerome Jankowski.
