Donald Heckman, age 80, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023.
Donald knew on a fieldtrip to a radio station as a middle schooler that radio was going to be his career. This became reality and through his life he has owned and operated numerous stations in the United States. He loved boating and cars, and this love was picked up by his grandsons. He was dearly loved and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Heckman in 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Heckman; son, Mark and Cindy Heckman; granddaughter, Renee and Kirk Walters (Rylee and Skylar); grandson, Michael Heckman; grandson Matthew Heckman; brother, Jeffery and Kathy Heckman; brother-in-law, Gary and Susan Foxx; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family is 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St. Zeeland, MI 49464.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Don’s service in the United States Air Force, memorial contributions may be given to Wounded Warriors at woundedwarriorsproject.org.
