Mary Josephine Helgren peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday August 17 surrounded by her family.
Formerly from Dexter, Michigan, Mary Jo and her lifelong sweetheart Terry Helgren moved to Holland, Michigan in 1971 where they raised their 3 beautiful daughters Sue, Holly, and Patti. Mary Jo was a friend to all and a strong believer in Jesus Christ. She was always found laughing and with a smile on her face.
Mary Jo is survived by her husband of 60 years, Terry Helgren; Her daughters Sue and Mark Kalinowski, Holly and Doug Blauwkamp, and Patti and Scott Brooks; Her grandchildren Alyssa Brooks, Summer and Riley Arendsen, Hunter and Kaila Blauwkamp, Lindsay Kalinowski, Zane Brooks, Isaac Brooks, and Sean Kalinowski; Her great-grandchildren Tristan and Lincoln who were the light of her life as well as her sweet puppy Oochie. She is also survived by her younger brothers John Milligan and Dean Milligan as well as many friends from all walks of life.
Mary Jo will always be remembered for the unconditional love and kindness she showed everyone around her. Her family and God were always kept close to her heart. She was young at heart and had a spunky personality. She will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to spend time with her.
Her parents John and Virginia Milligan as well as many friends and family will welcome her into heaven with open arms.
A private burial will take place prior to the visitation for immediate family.
