John was born January 24, 1929, to John M. and Winnie Huyser. He married Marian Goodyke on March 4, 1953. John was a lifelong member of Borculo Christian Reformed Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. John drove truck for Spartan Stores for many years and he served on the Blendon/Olive Twp. Fire Department for 40 years.
John was preceded in death by his wife Marian in 2015; his great great granddaughter Addison Paige De Haan; and his siblings: Bernice Vanden Bosch, William Huyser, and Clifford Huyser.
John is survived by his children: Mark and Debi Huyser of West Olive and Mary and Keith De Witt of Spring Lake; his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Eric and Jodie De Witt (Gisele, and Gianna), Jason and Martha De Witt (Jacob, Deacon, and Tenley), Ashley and Jon Kohn (Dominic, Roman, and Victoria), Dan and Amy Huyser (Norah, and Ethan), Jennifer and Tim De Haan (Liam, and Zeya); his siblings: Evelyn Baar, Gayle Evenhuis, Vern Huyser, Eva Huyser and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4-6 pm Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The funeral service will be 10 am Monday, August 21, 2023, at Borculo Christian Reformed Church, 6464 96th Ave, Zeeland. Interment will be in Borculo Cemetery.
