HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 10, 2023) – One may call it, “The Lost Treasures of the Holland Museum.”
Beginning on Thursday, the museum’s Summer Intern Council will host a presentation called “Cabinets of Curiosities: The Origins of the Modern Museum” in the lobby of the former Holland Post Office (31 W. 10th Street). According to the museum’s Education and Community Programs Manager Michelle Stempien, it’s a tribute by Sofia Biriouk, Maddalena Frissora, Kaelin Hardenburga, Emily Leegwater, Jaer Medina and Wyatt Wilcox to the time when there were no public museums, and historical artifacts were kept by private individuals somewhat discreetly.
The 90-minute Thursday program begins at 7 PM, with the exhibit on display through the end of the year.
