LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 27, 2023) – A Canadian firm is getting some state dollars to expand its Hudsonville operations.
On Thursday, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced the awarding of a $117,600 Micro Michigan Business Development Program grant to Fabric Building Covers. This will help in funding a $1.5 million investment into a leased facility that opened this past April, creating 21 jobs, and was augmented by a 50 percent tax abatement by the city of Hudsonville.
Fabric Building Covers, a subsidiary of Britespan Building Systems, specializes in what it names implies, producing fabric covers and accessories. Britespan also is involved in steel building manufacturing.
This competitive grant helped in Britespan’s decision to expand into Michigan over other neighboring states and Canadian provinces, along with a strong, well-developed customer base already in this state.
