ZEELAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 25, 2023) – Even though Tuesday is the deadline for candidates to file for inclusion on the November 7th general election in municipalities that are not holding a primary election on August 8th, some are already looking ahead to the November 5th, 2024 general election.
One of them is Brad Slagh, who can now seek a fourth term in the state House after Michigan’s term limits law was amended last year to allow state legislators to serve up to 12 years in either the House or Senate.
The Zeeland Township Republican is well aware of the influence the Ottawa Impact political action group has had in local politics since it was formed just over a year ago.
Slagh also admits that, with differences recently surfacing in state GOP leadership, it’s not easy being a Republican in Michigan right now.
