HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 25, 2023) – A Holland non-profit is getting some financial help for its Food Club.
Community Action House will receive $305,000 from UnitedHealthcare in an Empowering Health grant to puchase a vehicle in order to launch a “Fresh Express” Mobile Market program. This would help increase access to fresh produce, cooking demonstrations and other resources for those without transportation, or living in rural areas, that cannot get to the Food Club building off of Paw Paw Drive at East 7th Street.
The grant, announced on Tuesday, is one of six given to community-based organizations in Michigan totaling a million dollars, as the national health-benefit provider is donating more than $11.1 million in this program across 12 states.
