Thomas Franklin Yost, age 84, died July 13, 2023, in Holland, Michigan. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Koster Yost; son and daughter-in-law, Brian Keith and Michelle (Fawley) Yost; as well as four grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by his son, Steven Thomas Yost, and his brother, Daniel Curtis Yost.
Thomas was born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania on July 2, 1939, to Guy Marshall Yost and Mary Pauline Kirby.
Thomas held a lifelong interest in aviation and was a radar operator and RC-121 air crew member in the United States Air Force. He was also a volunteer pilot observer for the Civil Air Patrol.
Thomas co-owned and operated Foreway Transportation in Coopersville, MI with Roger Ensing while advocating for interstate law reform. He also served on the Jenison Christian School Board. He worked for the City of Holland as a building inspector, then for several years as a FEMA inspector.
A private interment with military honors will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek.
