ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 17, 2023) – In order to get back on its bi-weekly business meeting track, the Zeeland City Council holds such a session on Monday evening.
The Independence Day Holiday two weeks ago forced the governing panel to hold a business meeting last Monday. In the work-study session beforehand, City manager Tim Klunder will go over the status of the 2023 Strategic Action Plan at the midway point of the year. Most of the proposed projects and goals are being worked on, but none have been completed at this point.
In the business meeting, council will hold a public hearing in order to get feedback from property owners affected by a Snowmelt Special Assessment Resolution passed last month. Work has already begun on installing this along Main Avenue downtown, and the assessment that would bring $37,000 annually over a three-year period is intended for maintenance, not installation costs. No action is expected on this matter until the August 7th meeting.
This evening’s activities at Zeeland City Hall (21 S. Elm St.) begins at 6:30 PM. An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
