UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, July 10, 2023) – Two municipal governing bodies along the Lakeshore have business meetings slated for 7 PM on Monday night.
Normally, the city councils of Zeeland and Saugatuck have such sessions on alternating Monday evenings, but the Independence Day holiday pushed Zeeland’s meeting back a week. When Mayor Kevin Klynstra and his council colleagues meet, they will be asked, among other items, to approve the re-endorsement of the Sligh Block Workshop Report in order to complement the city’s Downtown Vision Plan.
In Saugatuck, a topic of interest is the approval of a $475,198 bid from Krohn Excavating of Bangor to renovate West, East, Takken and Taylor Streets, along with reconstructing North Maple Street from the lift station to North Street. The work would begin in mid-August and take a couple of months to complete.
