GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, June 26, 2023) – A 64-year-old Hudsonville woman who was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle west of Jenison on Friday afternoon has lost her life three days after the incident.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jeff Steigenga, the unnamed woman was attempting to cross 36th Avenue at Baldwin Street shortly after 12 Noon when the vehicle of a 58-year-old Hudsonville man, who was southbound attempting to turn right, hit the woman. The unnamed motorist, who was not hurt, told deputies that he did not see the pedestrian in the marked walkway.
The woman was taken to an undisclosed “area hospital” for treatment. On Monday morning, Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong announced that the woman had succumbed to her injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
