Alicia was born on December 21, 1951, in Monahans, Texas, to Julian and Juanita Calanchi. She moved to Holland when her eldest brother Gregorio brought his eight youngest siblings to Michigan. Alicia worked over two decades at the manufacturing facility BLD, where she formed lifetime bonds with friends. She had three beautiful children with Richard Pacheco. Alicia will be remembered as a loyal and loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Family is what brought her the most joy in life, and she devoted her life to the ones she loved.
Alicia is survived by her three children Sonia (Mike) Barlow, Fernando (Tiffany) Pacheco, and Armando (Chase) Pacheco, grandchildren Jacob, Alicia, Jesse, Rome, Olivia, Braylee, and Cruz; siblings Alfredo Calanchi, Elena Solano, Enrique (Alicia) Calanchi, Elbira Falcon, David Calanchi, Larry Calanchi, Linda Calanchi, Oscar (Veronica) Aguilar and Sylvia Aguilar. Alicia is preceded in death by her mother Juanita Morales Calanchi, father Julian Calanchi, siblings Gregorio (Gloria) Calanchi, Lupe Calanchi, Julian (Alicia) Calanchi, Mercedes (Olivia) Calanchi, Florinda Calanchi, Elosia Calanchi, and Ernesto (Willie) Calanchi and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Resurrection Life Church in Holland, MI, with a visitation starting at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, and a service at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 14, 2023. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Holland 270 Hoover Blvd. Holland, MI 49423.
