Allen (Al) Nienhuis age 82, of Holland, died Wednesday, June 7, 2023, alongside his wife at home.
He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church and worked for Mechanical Transplanter for 62 years as a welder. He was both at Ottawa County Sheriff Reserve and Holland Township Volunteer firefighter for 15 years.
Al was the son of Albert and Anna Ruth Nienhuis and was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dale Nienhuis, and sister-in-law, Evelyn De Graaf.
Al is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley; sons, Mike and Christina Nienhuis, Tim Nienhuis; Grandsons, Braylon, and Dane; siblings, Arloa and Doug Dykstra, Erwin and Phyllis Nienhuis; in-laws, Ivan and Judy De Graaf, Jack and Mary De Graaf, Randall De Graaf, Kristi and Dave Wolbert, James De Graaf; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Trinity Reformed Church, 712 Apple Ave. Holland with Rev. Deb Yurk officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 12, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland.
