HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, June 2, 2023) – An effort to make the Tulip City a Heart Safe Community is underway.
During a ceremony at the Kollen Park Fire Station on Thursday afternoon, members of the Holland Department of Public Safety’s Fire Operations, along with a number of other public and private entities, unveiled the initiative to expand awareness of, and instruction in, hands-only CPR. Such an effort will lead to saving lives for those afflicted in the early stages of cardiac arrest.
Steve Stegeman, one of the leaders in this effort who had been a paramedic for about four decades before his retirement, knows the value of being trained in CPR resuscitation.
