Felipe (“Phil”) Morales Jr., AKA Chinaman to all his friends and family back home in East Chicago, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Lucy and Eliseo Guzman; father Felipe Morales Sr.; siblings Mary Martinez and Johnny Morales; brother-in-law Cruz Lopez; nephews Odilon Garibaldi and Cisco Garcia; and daughter Selena Morales.
Felipe is survived by his spouse of 19 years, Lisa Morales; sisters Beatrice Covarrubio and Susanne Lopez; children: Leanora Morales, Brandon Louks, Frank Morales, and Crystal (Daniel) Rodriguez. Felipe is also survived by 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was very proud of his occupations as a tree trimmer and diesel mechanic. For the last 17 years, Felipe worked at Cobblestone Hobbies, doing what he loved, until his illness prevented him from working any longer. He was also a former member of the Sinners MC.
A visitation for Felipe will be held on Wednesday, May 24 from 5-8 PM at Lakeshore Memorial Services – 11939 James St. Holland, 49424. A funeral mass for Felipe will be held at noon on Friday, May 26 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church – 3510 Deodar St, East Chicago, IN 46312. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of mass.
