OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 22, 2023) – Two teens and a 79-year-old man were hospitalized in a crash involving two sedans and a golf cart in West Olive on Monday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant James Douglas, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to 104th Avenue and Stanton Street around 3:30 PM. That was where a northbound Volkswagen apparently drove through a stop sign and into a westbound Saturn, causing that vehicle to flip over. As it did, it struck a golf cart driven by the older man that was in the yard of a nearby residence.
While the at-fault driver, a 23-year-old Muskegon man, was not hurt, the two teens – an 18-year-old woman driving the Saturn and her 15-year-old male passenger – along with the older man, were all taken to an undisclosed “local hospital” for treatment, with the older man listed in stable condition.
No names were disclosed as the Muskegon man was ticketed and the incident remains under investigation.
