JAMESTOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 811, 2023) – Two persons were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Ottawa County’s far southeast corner on Thursday evening.
According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Tammenga, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to 8th Avenue south of Adams Street just after 5 PM. That was where a 20-year-old Hudsonville man, driving a sedan southbound, attempted to turn left into a driveway, but instead turned into a northbound SUV, driven by a 41-year-old Dorr man. The force of the collision caused the SUV to skid off of the roadway and flip over onto its top.
A 13-year-old boy in the SUV was pinned inside and had to be extricated by rescue workers. He was taken to a “local hospital in stable condition, while his driver was not hurt, and the apparent at-fault driver was treated at the scene for bumps and bruises.
No names were immediately disclosed as the collision remains under investigation.
