Sherwin E. Terpstra, age 90 of Holland, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Zeeland Hospital.
Sherwin was born in Borculo, on April 14, 1933, to Gerben and Ann (Veldheer) Terpstra. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Niekerk Christian Reformed Church. Sherwin retired from General Motors after a long career in the automotive industry, and was a tried and true “Chevy Guy”.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorene of 68 years in 2020; son Scott Terpstra in 2022; son-in-law Earl Teague; and great-granddaughter Abigail Teague.
He is survived by his children Steven (Norma) Terpstra and Darla Teague; daughter-in-law Carla Terpstra; 10 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren with another great-grandchild on the way; Sister Gloria (Lee) Leenheer; In-laws Hazel (Dave) Becksfort, Lois (John) Van Wienen, and Lila Terpstra; many extended family and friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Sherwin’s life will be 11:00 am Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Niekerk Christian Reformed Church, 545 Country Club Rd., Holland, with the Rev. Darren Kornelis officiating. Burial will be in Borculo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at Niekerk CRC.
