Jackie was born in Frankfurt, Michigan on July 27, 1951, to John M. “Jack” and Joyce A. (Johnson) Akerman. Jackie grew up in northern Michigan and later moved to the Grand Rapids area. She enjoyed a fulfilling career as an executive secretary for Lacks Industries for a number of years. She worked as a single parent to raise and educate her only child. Upon her retirement, she moved to Michaywe (Gaylord) with her husband Bob. There they spent many happy years with family and friends.
Jackie is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Kish of Holland, Michigan, her son Chuck Stebelton (Cathy Cunningham) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; brother John Akerman (Maryann Krause); sister Joyce (Tim) Conatser of Bokeelia, Florida; nieces Michelle Pracher and Tracy Vandeweg; nephews Jay Chernault, Brandon Akerman, Loren Akerman and their families; sisters-in-law Fran Voelker and Sandra Kish; and Bob’s children Ken, Amy, and Karla Kish and their families. Jackie and Bob delighted in their 3 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by her sister, Judie Pracher Garthwaite, and by an infant son, Jeffrey Wade Stebelton.
Jackie inspired us with her beautiful loving spirit, her bright, creative presence, and her resilience. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, on Monday, May 1, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland, MI 49464. A funeral ceremony will be held following visitation at 1:00 pm. She will be interred at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens, Traverse City, Michigan at a later date.
