ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 21, 2023) – The semi-annual effort to raise awareness of the proper disposal of unused or outdated medicines and sharps comes up on Saturday.
The 24th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is an effort by the US Department of Drug Enforcement Administration to clear out medicine cabinets of such medications and instruments, with “no questions asked.” While some law enforcement entities, medical facilities and retail pharmacies have year-round depositories for handling these products, more locations participate in April and October, such as Corewell Health-Zeeland Hospital.
Melanie Weytkow is the pharmacy manager there.
The national effort runs from 10 AM to 2 PM local time, and an online link for more information and where to drop off those unwanted drugs and sharps is here.
