HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 20, 2023) – More than just passing a budget for Fiscal 2024 will be before the Holland City Council at its next business meeting on May 3rd.
On Wednesday night, the Tulip City’s governing panel took a procedural first reading on 13 modifications of the Unified Development Ordinance that was initially implemented nearly two years ago. The proposed changes include modification of terms, updating standards, and other corrections to address issues that have come up since the ordinance was enacted in August of 2021.
Mayor Nathan Bocks saluted Steve Peterson and other members of the Holland Planning Commission for their continued efforts in this 435-page, eighth amendment to the PUD.
These amendments will be voted on by Council members on May 3rd.
In addition, City Manager Keith Van Beek announced that, instead of holding a usual biweekly council work-study session next Wednesday evening at 6 PM, he will be conducting a Community Open House to discuss the proposed land swap with GDK of the DeYoung Power Plant site for the Verplank Dock site, as it is on the May 2nd ballot for the City of Holland.
