ZEELAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 14, 2023) – A 21-year-old Rockford man was critically injured in an overnight crash on Friday that spanned Allegan and Ottawa counties.
According to Allegan County Sheriff’s Sergeant Brandon Berens, a deputy spotted a black-colored, two-door vehicle just before 1 AM “driving recklessly at a high rate of speed” west of Dorr, although he didn’t mention on what road that vehicle was at when it was spotted. The vehicle eventually crashed into a field in the area of Adams Street and 48th Avenue southwest of Hudsonville. The unnamed motorist, who was the lone occupant of that vehicle, was taken to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in stable condition.
Berens added that speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the sheriff’s departments for both Allegan and Ottawa counties.
