HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 24, 2023) – Two women were injured late on Friday morning in a two-vehicle collision at a busy intersection on Holland’s North Side.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matthew Wildfong, an on-duty deputy was a eyewitness to the crash at the junction of River and Douglas avenues around 11:50 AM. That was where an eastbound sedan attempted to turn left on a flashing yellow signal, and it’s driver, a 43-year-old Holland man, apparently didn’t see a westbound SUV that was looking to go through the intersection on a green light, causing the collision.
A 30-year-old Holland woman, who was a passenger in the sedan, was pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated by rescue workers, She, along with the 41-year-old Alto woman driving the SUV, were taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, while the other driver was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
