CROCKERY TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 13, 2023) – A 41-year-old woman has been arraigned in a January 23rd shooting at a Nunica home that took the life of her 41-year-old husband.
On Monday, Aaron Elizabeth Gardner was arraigned via video on careless use of a firearm causing injury of death and lying to a peace officer charges and was ordered held on $25,000 bond by Grand Haven District Court Judge Craig Bunce. She remains in the Ottawa County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing. On Friday, the Ottawa County Prosecutor’s office had authorized those charges, and she was arrested that day without incident.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Detective Captain Jake Sparks, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to a residence off of 120th Avenue south of Apple Drive around 10:45 PM on that January night on a report of a “domestic situation.” They found Keith Gardner suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to an undisclosed Muskegon area hospital, where he succumbed to his injury. The accused and two teenaged children were home at the time of the incident, none of whom were injured.
