ST. JOSEPH, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 10, 2023) – This Sunday we’ll spring forward and change to Daylight Saving Time.
This week, a bipartisan group of US Senators reintroduced legislation that would keep the country on Daylight Saving Time all year long, claiming that it would reduce car crashes, reduce cardiac issues associated with the time change, and benefit the economy.
The current second-Sunday-in-March to first-Sunday-in-November term for DST was enacted in 2006 after President George W. Bush signed legislation cosponsored by now-retired Republican Congressmana Fred Upton of St. Joseph.
Republican Senator Marco Rubio was behind similar year-round Daylight Saving Time legislation last year that cleared the Upper Chamber but failed to get through the US House.
